* Option 1 offers the advantage of a lower discount rate percentage per transaction. Option 1 is better for merchants that would like touch-tone processing with lower per transaction percentages. For example, on a $100 sale Option 1 will cost you: $2.94 cents.  How do we determine that amount? (2.19% of $100 is $2.19 + $0.75 phone processing fee = $2.94) and with Option 2 the total transaction fee on a $100 sale is $3.85 (3.85% of $100 is $3.85). So the likeliness of savings with Option 1 are greater when your charge is $50 or more.
